Mid 19th century Oil - Portrait of a Jacobean gentleman

A fine mid 19th Century oil on canvas portrait of a well dressed Jacobean gentleman with a characterful beard and a knowing gaze. The painting is unsigned and has been presented in a substantial contemporary gilt frame with oversized foliate molding. 

Size: 18 x 13cm. 

Condition: painting is typical for a painting of this age including slight discolouration. There is some craquelure to the surface, adding charm to the paintings age. The painting has been relined. The frame is in fine condition.
