About the Artwork
𝘿𝘼𝙉𝘼𝙀 was a princess of Argos in the Greek Peloponnese, the only child of King Akrisios (Acrisius). Aikaterini Pitikari’s current work examines ancient Greek and Roman myths with a special focus on gender issues and re-interprets them in a contemporary setting. Her approach to heritage and the search for identity in these artworks are expressed through a variety of media such as clay and ink.
